Landscape Gardener - Soft Landscaping

Type: Full time / Permanent

We seek a reliable and enthusiastic Landscape Gardener to join our soft landscaping team. This hands-on role focuses on the maintenance, planting, and upkeep of gardens and green spaces across residential, commercial, and public sites. You’ll work in a team environment where attention to detail, plant knowledge, and pride in presentation are key.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare garden beds and planting areas, including soil cultivation, mulching, and composting
• Plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals in accordance with planting plans and seasonal guidelines
• Perform general garden maintenance including weeding, pruning, trimming, and deadheading
• Carry out lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilising, and pest/disease control
• Install and maintain irrigation systems under supervision
• Monitor plant health and identify issues such as nutrient deficiencies, pest infestations, or diseases
• Use hand tools and small horticultural machinery safely and efficiently
• Ensure a tidy and professional appearance of all landscaped areas
• Comply with Health & Safety policies, wear required PPE, and report any hazards or incidents immediately
• Support the team with seasonal tasks such as mulching, leaf clearance, and frost protection measures

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience in soft landscaping, gardening, or horticulture is preferred.
• Basic understanding of plant care, pruning techniques, and seasonal garden cycles
• Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high presentation standards
• Able to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
• Class 1 Driver’s Licence preferred (manual transmission advantageous)
• Site Safe or Horticultural training certifications are a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Outdoor work across multiple garden and landscape sites
• Physical duties including lifting, bending, kneeling, and prolonged standing
• Work is weather-dependent; early starts may be required during peak seasons
• Some travel between sites may be required – company vehicles may be provided where applicable
