Christchurch Landscaping - Hard Landscaper / Landscape Construction Specialist

Oderings is a 100% New Zealand privately owned family business of six generations spanning 96 years. Oderings Landscaping is an exciting and fast-growing part of this business where we put our best foot forward, striving to achieve great outcomes for our staff and clients.

We are looking for an experienced Hard Landscaper to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and has experience building durable, well-finished landscape features.

You will be involved in a variety of landscape construction projects, from residential garden transformations to retail and commercial installations. No two days are the same, and you’ll work with a supportive team that values skill, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of raised timber garden beds
• Basic paving installation including preparation, screeding, and laying
• Timber edging and garden borders
• Site preparation including digging, levelling, and base preparation
• Installation of soil, planting areas, and mulching
• Working from plans and assisting with layout and measurements
• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site presentation
• Supporting the team to deliver projects safely and efficiently

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in hard landscaping or landscape construction
• Experience with timber work, paving, and edging installation
• Ability to use basic landscaping tools and machinery
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
• Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality finishes
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Full driver’s license required, preferably manual
